Iain Bonner, An Island (Art (2018))
This collection of photos was taken while living in Taipei, Taiwan. During this time I felt an underlying mood and emotion tied to the place that fused with my own. The Taiwanese are very connected to the life of the spirit, and believe in the spirits of the dead living among us, and I too felt some sort of special energy at times, especially at night. This ghost-like presence is something similar to what it is like to live in countries where you do not have history, or some shared past, and it is something I believe I inhabited when I took these photos.
