Adri Ou, by the corniche (DOCO 2024)

Peak summer in Beirut means a stifling humidity. The rich escape to their refuge in the mountains; for those less fortunate, the nearest body of water would do, water quality be damned. The stability of this tiny country remains fragile, continuously thwarted by a failing currency, sectarian politics, and the slow recovery from the Beirut Port blasts. Despite it all, life must go on - and the breadth of said lives is best captured on the Beirut Corniche. In their actions, a carefreeness that affects youth and elderly alike: a reminder that all we ever have is now.
