Victoria Ugarte, Calm Amidst Chaos (SINGLE SHOT 2021)

From the Coronavirus and global lockdowns to the chaos of the 2020 US Presidential elections, this photographer has been plagued by a litany of fears and anxieties that have led to a bout of insomnia. After a particularly restless night, I headed to Bronte Beach to catch the sunrise. The seas were wild that morning, thanks to a rare Blue Moon the night before. Amidst the turbulence was this gentleman sitting crosslegged on the seashore, completely at peace. The tableau gave me hope and showed me that serenity is not freedom from the storm but, rather, peace amid the storm.
