graham earnshaw, WA from Above (Art (2018))
These images are all taken "looking down" in areas throughout Western Australia on my recent road trip from Perth to Broome. First image is of a piece of our burnt countryside on the highway between Hedland and Broome, highlighting how an unsightly piece of land can look quite beautiful from above; 2nd image is of the Cable Beach camels on their sunset stroll; 3rd image is of my girlfriend floating in the shallow waters off Cable Beach, Broome, and done in monochrome, it appears she's floating in space; the 4th image is of the amazing Pink Lake of Hutt Lagoon at Port Gregory (south of Geraldton); the 5th image is of a small rock pool in the stunning Hamersley Gorge, in Karijini National Park; and the final image is of stunning Roebuck Bay, Broome, with the distinctive strong colours of the pindan red beach clashing against the turquoise waters with a thin veil of white foam separating them. I feel all images show how our amazing natural landscape here in Australia taken from above can look highly artistic.
