JUDGES COMMENTS
“Always be influenced, rather than
copying techniques, as setting trends
with your own style will truly open the
doors to success.”
“There is a growing trend among
emerging photographers to use poses like
holding hands with expressionless faces
standing straight. Breaking the same
rules over again and again no longer has
the same impact as when we first saw it
many years ago.”
“Weddings are about capturing an event –
a celebration – and there’s much more to
a wedding than bridal portraits.”

Lara Hotz is a Sydney wedding and portrait photographer,

For her, it’s about capturing moments and finding beauty
in unlikely places at its best when underscored by truth.
She is inspired by the love, characters and atmosphere in
weddings and aims to document the story as it unfolds in
a natural and unobstrusive way.
