AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR

Nikon’s new AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR is the first in the NIKKOR range to feature an aspherical Extra-low Dispersion (ED) glass element that effectively corrects various, typical lens aberration, and is paired with an advanced Vibration Reduction (VR) system and improved high-speed autofocus. The focal length offers a 2.9x zoom range, and the fast, constant f/2.8 aperture makes the lens ideal for lower light shooting. The VR system provides an effect equivalent to 4 stops, meaning you can shoot with slower shutter speeds and reduce the likelihood of camera shake.

Another feature of this lens is the new Silent Wave Motor (SWM) which accelerates autofocus performance speed by approximately 1.5 times, enabling higher accuracy in autofocus. Stable auto exposure is achieved with the adoption of an electromagnetic aperture mechanism, even during high-speed continuous shooting.

The NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR also features a fluorine coating applied to the front and rear elements to repel dust, water droplets, grease and dirt for easy maintenance on the move. These features allow photographers to carry on shooting unhindered by the elements. The barrel design provides a grip that sits comfortably in the hand, while an improved weight balance supports long-duration and steady shooting.
