Haida launches combined variable polariser and neutral density filter
Haida has announced its PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter, which combines a variable circular polariser (CPL) and a variable neutral density filter (ND) in one unit, but still allows for each filter to be controlled independently.
Haida says the PROII CPL-VND 2-in-1 Filter is aimed at both videographers and photographers, and appears to be a solid one-stop-shop option for users who don't need the bulk of separate ND and CPL kits.
The ND filter has a five-stop range (ND 3.0 to ND7.0), which can be adjusted via a small lever on the side of the filter, and has clear markings to make adjustment easier.
For best results, Haida recommends first adjusting the ND filter to get the amount of light desired, and then adjusting the circular polariser to specify where the exact amount of emphasis is needed. The filter weighs 48 grams and will be available in 67mm, 77mm and 82mm sizes.
