Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 ASPH. redesign

The Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 ASPH. is the latest release from Leica, the lens having recently been redesigned. Billed as one of the most versatile of the Leica M lenses, the Summilux-M 35 refined, new design promises to provide even greater flexibility. Ideal for a variety of applications from landscapes, high-contrast work, even in difficult light conditions, or close-up subjects with selective focus, the lens boasts eleven, instead of nine, aperture blades for visibly improved bokeh.

Along with this improvement over its predecessor, the new lens has also had its closest focusing distance reduced from 70 to 40cm, made possible by a patent-pending double cam unit developed by Leica engineers. The result of this is that the rotation angle of the focus ring has been almost doubled to 176 degrees in comparison to the previous model. The change allows for reliable, precise focusing over the entire setting range.

As with the Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH., the lens hood is round, directly integrated in the lens, and can easily be screwed in and out for even faster and more flexible handling.

The Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 ASPH.is available in either black (RRP: $9,290) or silver (RRP: $9,590).
