Nikon’s AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR is approximately 110g lighter than its predecessor. The state-of-the-art lens relies on one fluorite, one high refractive index (HRI), and six Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) lens elements, as well as magnesium-alloy parts. Ideal for a variety of uses in a variety of conditions, the lens is equipped with anti-dust and water-drop-resistant capabilities.

It offers two different modes for vibration reduction, a Normal and Sport options, which provides an effect equivalent to a shutter speed 4 stopsfaster, and also capable of maintaining focus on rapidly moving subjects, even with high-speed continuous shooting. The electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism enables stable exposure control, even with high-speed continuous shooting.

Nikon's exclusive fluorine coat has been applied to the external surface of the front lens element to effectively repel dust, water droplets, grease and dirt, while the Nano Crystal Coat provides superior anti-reflection effects and effective reduction of ghost and flare. Four focus function buttons allow for quick focusing and are positioned so that they are readily accessible regardless of shooting orientation.
