RØDE Wireless GO
The Wireless GO from RØDE Microphones is billed as the world’s smallest digital wireless mic/receiver combination. The transmitter is ultra-compact measuring 44mm x 45.3mm x 18.5mm and weighs just 31g. It has a built-in broadcast-grade lavalier mic that comes with two fur windshields for outdoor use. However, for those that prefer a more traditional set-up, it’s possible to use the transmitter as a belt-pack by connecting a standard lavalier mic to the 3.5mm input. Meanwhile the receiver is practically the same size and weight as the receiver and be mounted on camera gimbals or stabilisers, clipped onto clothing or a camera strap, or simply mounted directly onto a camera. It features a three-stage output pad so you can adjust gain as required.
While the Wireless GO works at a range of up to 70m (line-of-sight), it has been optimised for shorter-range operation in congested radio-frequency environments and relies on 2.4GHz digital wireless transmission with 128-bit encryption - ideal for locations with dense Wi-Fi and Bluetooth activity. Both transmitter and receiver have built-in rechargeable batteries, charged via USB-C, and offering up to 7 hours on a full charge.
Recently released is the Lavalier GO, a pro-grade lavalier mic designed to pair perfectly with the Wireless Go. It features a high-quality omnidirectional condenser capsule, a foam pop shield to minimise wind noise and vocal plosives, and a hard-wearing Kevlar reinforced cable, designed to withstand the rigours of any shoot. It can also be used with most recording devices with a 3.5mm TRS microphone input.
