SanDisk launches PRO-BLADE storage ecosystem for studio and location

The latest offering from SanDisk and SanDisk Pro is a modular SSD ecosystem. The SanDisk Professional PRO-BLADE Modular SSD Ecosystem is designed to ingest, edit, and copy large volumes of high-resolution content, and also allow you to move contents around easily away from the studio.

The PRO-BLADE ecosystem consists of the SSD Mag, TRANSPORT portable SSD enclosure, and the STATION desktop SSD enclosure.

The PRO-BLADE SSD mag is available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities and can withstand drops of up to 3m and close to 2 tonnes of crush resistance – perfect for practically any situation in the field. The mags can be paired with either the TRANSPORT enclosure allowing users to create a powerful portable SSD or the STATION desktop enclosure to build a versatile media workflow. Meanwhile, the TRANSPORT device allows one to easily swap out PRO-BLADE SSD mags so they can carry terabytes of storage without excess bulk.

Combining multiple mags with the TRANSPORT portable SSD enclosure, read and write speeds of up to 2000MB/s are possible. A USB-C compatible camera rig allows for the PRO-BLADE TRANSPORT enclosure to record in high-res directly onto the loaded PRO-BLADE SSD mag which can simply be swapped out when full.

The PRO-BLADE STATION desktop SSD enclosure is the fastest way to ingest, copy, and edit content, allowing up to four PRO-BLADE SSD mags to be connected at once, resulting in a powerful Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps) SSD device.
