Marja Kuhmunen and her father, Nils Anders Kuhmunen are a Sámi reindeer herding family and part of a traditional way of life that is slowly decreasing as competing interests such as forestry, mining and development make life hard for the herders.

While walking the streets of San Francisco I noticed the mural on the wall, which was signage for a dog day care centre. The back lit street scene was a perfect frame for me to wait for life to imitate the painting...”

Awards season for the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) has kicked off with the judging and awards presentation in Adelaide for the first of the AIPP EPSON State Awards. Sponsored by EPSON and judged at the Marden Senior College across two days on 28 and 29 April, commercial photographer Mark Zed APP M.Photog took out the overall win to become the 2019 AIPP EPSON South Australian Professional Photographer of the Year.

Fourteen AIPP members were awarded the top accolade across eleven categories including Student, Emerging, Highest Scoring Print, and the EPSON Signature Worthy Award. Commercial category winner Mark Zed was also named as the overall 2019 winner.
