Aussie newborn photographer cleans up at WPPI
One of Australia’s best portrait photographer recently cleaned up at international awards held in the USA. Newborn and children photographer, Kelly Brown has taken home an array of awards from this year’s international WPPI held in Las Vegas. The prestigious live print, album, and filmmaking competition is the biggest of the year for portrait photographers with more than 10,000 attendees over the three-day event.
Brown’s awards include 1st & 3rd place in the Newborn category, 1st place in the Group Portrait category, and 3rd place in the Children category. She also took out the Bill Hurter Excellence Award which goes to the highest point scorer overall.
Her submissions were all single capture images, while the sets, props, and lighting are created and photographed in her studio in Brisbane. Judging of the images in the competition was conducted on the day by a panel of five experienced photography professionals and assessed for creativity, originality, craft, skill & technical proficiency.
