Positive news: Kodak to relaunch B&W negative, T-MAX P3200

If Kodak’s foray into cryptocurrencies flatlines like the current price of bitcoin, they can always fall back on their old, traditional business. You know what I’m talking about, right?! Film!

The awesome news for film aficionados is that Kodak is planning to bring back their highly popular panchromatic black-and-white negative film, T-MAX P3200. The film has a nominal speed of ISO 1000 when processed with Kodak T Max Developer, and ISO 800 when other developers are used. The film can comfortably be pushed to ISO 6400, although some claim you should have no major issues pushing it as far as 25,000, but you might want to run a couple of test rolls fist.

“It’s no secret that we’ve been looking for opportunities to expand our portfolio” said Dennis Olbrich, President of Kodak Alaris Paper, Photo Chemicals and Film in a statement announcing the film’s release. “Darkroom photography is making a comeback, and B&W Film sales are clearly on a positive trajectory. Given these very encouraging market trends, we believe P3200 TMZ will be a great addition to our lineup”.

With the unavailability of Kodak T-Max P3200, Ilford's Delta 3200 has filled the void, but that might all be about to change when Kodak revives an old favourite.
