Sexual harassment claims resurface as photographer banned from top magazines
American fashion photographer Terry Richardson is no stranger to controversy. And sexual harassment claims, stretching back as far as 2010 have recently resurfaced. Richardson has just been banned from working for any of the magazines under the control of Condé Nast, one of the world’s leading publishers, responsible for titles including Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Vanity Fair, and Wired.
The Daily Telegraph published an exclusive, revealing the details of an internal email circulated within Condé Nast International stating that any projects commissioned with Richardson but not yet published should be “killed or substituted with other material”.
Richardson, whose notoriety grew in 2013 when he directed Miley Cyrus' controversial Wrecking Ball video, has been accused of sexually exploiting models in the past. He has denied the allegations.
Recently, The Sunday Times published an article questioning the fashion industry’s continued use of Richardson as a photographer, and it’s believed that this may have been the catalyst for Condé Nast’s move.
