Apple updates Final Cut Pro to version 10.7
For all you hybrid shooters out there, Apple has updated Final Cut Pro to 10.7, Compressor to 4.7 and Motion to 5.7.
Final Cut Pro 10.7 enhancements include:
- Automatically scroll the timeline to keep your clips in view under the playhead during playback. If the playhead is not originally in the middle of your screen, it will automatically 'drift' to the centre of your screen and stay there, while the timelines scrolls across the screen. BTW - you may need to activate this in settings (see below)
- Increase editing efficiency by combining a selected group of connected clips. This is where if you have a bunch of extra clips 'hovering' over the main timeline, you can group them all together to make them appear in an organised fashion.
- View both video and audio role colors to easily see the organization of the timeline at a glance.
- See improved results when using the Object Tracker’s all-new machine-learning model to analyze the movement of faces and other objects on Mac computers with Apple silicon. For example – you can select /centre someones face and it will tracks their face when they go from a standing to sitting position.
- Use the enhanced Reveal in Browser feature to easily locate a clip in the browser without losing your selected Keyword Collection or Smart Collection.
- Export HEVC and H.264 files faster by simultaneously processing video segments across available media engines (requires macOS Sonoma or later and a Mac with Apple M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2 Max, M2 Ultra, or M3 Max).
The upgrade is ready for download now via the App Store.
