Behind the lens: Portraits of the Queen
Portrait photography isn't a typical subject for a feature film, but it's front and centre in the upcoming Portrait of the Queen, a documentary that examines the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II through the stories and images of the photographers who captured her over the course of her 70-year reign.
The film weaves the story of the Queen’s life with the stories of the photographers who, through their work, conveyed, created and shaped her public image.
Directed by photographer Fabrizio Ferr, it features the work of photographers Brian Aris, Jason Bell, Julian Calder, Chris Levine, David Montgomery and John Swannell.
Portrait of the Queen opens in select Australian cinemas on March 18.
