Many Canon R5 users have been eagerly waiting for a major update to add many of the new features found in the Canon R6mkII.
Canon rumours website has mentioned there would be two firmware updates for the R5 before the end of 2023, with the major firmware being 2.0. So if V1.9.0 is the first one, perhaps V2.0 is a possibility.
Fingers crossed this will happen. Many R5 users feel that with the release of the R5mkII being in the near(ish) future, the major update may never even happen. Time will tell.
