Close-Up Photographer of the Year competition: call for entries

The call for entries for the 3rd annual Close-Up Photographer of the Year competition is now open, with a deadline of 23 May. The competition is open to photographers from around the world and showcases the best close-up, macro, and micro photography.

In 2020, the contest attracted over 6,500 entries from photographers in more than 50 countries. The prize pool for 2021 is worth £5300, with the overall winner taking home a cash prize of £2,500.

There are nine categories, with category winners receiving £300, except for the winner of Young Close-Up Photographer of the Year who will receive a SIGMA 105mm f2.8 DG DN MACRO Art lens valued at £700.

The nine categories are: Animals, Insects, Plants & Fungi, Intimate Landscape, Manmade, Micro, Young Close-Up Photographer of the Year, Underwater, and Butterflies & Dragonflies.
