DJI reveals the Inspire 3
You really have to hand it to DJI, they have created some fantastic high quality products for the photography and cinematography world at very reasonable prices. The $1,200 DJI Mini Pro 3 is a perfect, relatively cheap introduction into the world of drones with its 48 megapixel camera and 4K resolution. It can satisfy most basic aerial work for commercial photographers. But if you are going to make a step up into cinema grade drone work – the DJI Inspire 3 is the new kid on the block that has all the bells and whistles you could (probably) ever wish for.
The $20,500 price tag for the basic kit and then the cost of your lenses on top may cause some people to wince - but if you are a pro drone user (or need to hire a drone) then this may be the one to go for.
The upgrade from the DJI Inspire 2 includes:
• Going from 6K to 8K at a higher frame rate (using ProRes RAW)
• Instead of a base ISO of 400 it's now 800/4000 with 14 stops of dynamic range
• New centimeter-level RTK Positioning and Waypoint Pro means repeatable routes
• Increased flight time now 28 minutes flight instead of 23 minutes
• 1/1.8"Ultra-Wide Night-Vision Cam VS 1/7.5"Night-Vision Cam
• New ability to tilt the camera 80 degrees up and down (obstruction free with 50mm lens)
• 94kph horizontal flight speed
The DJI Inspire 3 is available now for pre-order from the DJI website and will be available by the end of June.
