espresso Displays (small 'e') have come a long way since three Sydney-siders raised $1million on Kickstarter in 2019 to solve the problem of the lack of screen real estate on their portable 13" laptops.

Since then, the company has gained a reputation for crafting sleek, "Apple-esque" monitors known for their ultra-thin, yet durable design, and impressive colour accuracy. Staying true to their portable ethos, they also offer stylish, lightweight, magnetised stands – providing a seamless, on-the-go setup.

Currently there are four espresso portable monitors on the market ranging from $499 for the espresso Display 15, to more expensive 13" and 15" touchscreen displays, to their top-of-the-line 1.1kg 9mm thick, 4K espresso Pro 17 coming in at $1,250.

All screens are plug and play for both Mac and PC via USB-C.

This week at CES Las Vegas, espresso announced the new 15 Pro portable touchscreen 4K monitor which is said to take many of the highlights of last years, well received 17 Pro, and added a few updates in a more portable package.

The new 15 Pro boasts a peak brightness of 550 nits, an upgrade from the 450 nits of the 17 Pro, and features 100% Adobe RGB color accuracy compared to the 17 Pro's 100% DCI-P3. At 9mm thick, it matches the 17 Pro in depth, while its dimensions—360mm in length and 225mm in width—make it slightly larger than a 14-inch MacBook Pro, which measures approximately 31 x 22 cm.

The full specs and price are yet to be released, but espresso are said to be expecting it to go to market in a few months.
