With so many private and even public photography galleries becoming defunct due to insane property prices and the absurd 'cost of living' crisis, it's important to support our remaining photo galleries to ensure we have a vibrant photography community and places to see incredible images.
The MAPh X Artist Photography Auction is taking place on 6 June 2024, and the proceeds are split evenly between the Museum and the artist.
This year they have a stunning and unique selection of photographic works by leading contemporary Australian artists including Murray Fredericks, Anne Zahalka, Petrina Hicks, The Huxleys, Tamara Dean and so many more.
It's important to note that the auction isn't actually at The Museum of Australian Photography, but at the James Makin Gallery which his at 89 Islington St Collingwood VIC 3066.
The event opens at 6pm with the auction starting at 7pm.
