Sony announces the ZV-E10 II APS-C interchangeable-lens vlog camera

The new Sony ZV-E10II camera. This camera's sensor and lens combined
with a flip-out screen is far superior to a smart phone's front facing selfie camera.

The popular Sony ZV vlogging camera line has been around since the release of the 20MP Sony ZV-1 in May 2020. Since then, six cameras have been introduced, with the 26MP APS-C sensor ZV-E10II being the latest addition, which is priced between $1,899 and $1,999 with the 16-50mm kit lens.

It comes a year after the release of the ZV-E1 flagship model, which is the world's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens full-frame camera with IBIS, priced at $2,900 for the body only.

The Sony ZV-E10II’s predecessor, the ZV-E10, was released in 2021. The new model features several improvements, including a 26MP backside-illuminated sensor, a larger battery, enhanced 4K video capabilities, and a new PZ16-50mm f3.5-5.6 OSS II kit lens.

The Sony 'Shooting Grip with Wireless Remote Commander' makes for easier handling.

Other camera features include:
• 4K 60p 4:2:2 10 bit video
• E-Mount lens compatibility
• Digital IS
• S-Log3 gamma dynamic range
• 759-point focal plane phase-detection AF
• An advanced 3-capsule microphone
• S-Cinetone colour mode
• Ability to create and import LUTS
• Simple touch screen controls
• Electronic shutter only

So why are vloggers choosing these cameras over an iPhone? The primary reason is that iPhones have tiny sensors and lenses, which might look fine on a phone but perform poorly in low light conditions. In contrast, these vlog cameras have sensors nearly ten times larger, with much larger photo-sites for superior light gathering.

The camera is available for pre-order in white and black versions, and you can read more about it on the Sony AU website.
