World Press Photo Contest call for entries
Entries are open for what’s considered one of the world’s most prestigious photojournalism and documentary photography awards, the World Press Photo Contest.
Entries into the 2023 World Press Photo Contest will be accepted until 10 January 2023. Entry is free and open to professional photojournalists and documentary photographers from around the world. The competition celebrates the best photojournalism and documentary photography produced over the past year.
Launched for last year's competition, the regional contest model helps provide a more geographically balanced view of the world, with more nuanced perspectives and a better-shared understanding. Both regional and global awards will be on offer.
The contest is judged independently by leaders in documentary photography and photojournalism from each region. The regional and global jury will be announced in December 2022.
The work of the winners will be included in the World Press Photo annual travelling exhibition, shown around the world, published on the World Press Photo website and social platforms with over 2 million followers, and be in included in the World Press Photo yearbook. Four global winners each receive €5,000, while 24 regional winners will take home €1,000.
