Jane McMenamin, A Peek into the World of Suburban Egrets (ANIMAL 2024)
In the middle of a suburban, man-made lake, birds go about their daily routines. Often unnoticed by passers-by, chicks are born and fed, parents hunt and build nests. I love photographing the egrets that populate the trees on the lake’s island and below them amongst the vegetation. Here is a glimpse into their world. They are striking birds, their white plumage a beacon on the landscape.
