Nilmini De Silva, Ancient Landscapes (LANDSCAPE 2023)
Aerial photography gives us such a different perspective of our landscapes. I have often felt a spiritual connection with water so I am mesmerised as I look down on Shark Bay from the safety of a Cessna albeit with the doors open. The shapes, form, colours and textures collide to form patterns that transport me to a photographer’s paradise. I give up a silent prayer of gratitude to the Universe and the ancestors of the Malgana, Nanda and Yingkarta people. Today, I remember them as I look down on this landscape in awe.
