Andrew Rovenko, Beyond the first glance (ARCHITECTURE 2023)

“Beyond the first glance” is a series that intends to shine light on magical places that surround us in everyday life, being unfairly unnoticed as we rush through our daily routines, missing out on something special right at our doorstep. Some of their beauty might be humble, but each of these places has a spirit with a story to tell, if only we slow down, take a second look and listen. The images introduce viewers to the scenes of my hometown of Melbourne, but I hope that the series will inspire more people to meet their neighbourhood spirits too.
