Gavin Kellett, Bimberi Magic (LANDSCAPE 2024)

This series was taken from the rocky summit of Mount Murray with Mount Bimberi in the background in March 2023. Although these peaks are around 40km as the crow flies to the nearest Canberra suburb it's a 3 hour drive around the ranges to the trailhead. The drive and the tough slog up Mt Bimberi and Mt Murray were so worth it. The three images show us enjoying the last light of the day, seeing the soft low light define the contours of the mountains and the nearby rocks. The image with the toast of drinks showed a well deserved celebration after battling up the trackless Mt Murray.
