Daniel Mazzarella, Bresciano - La Statua (PORTRAIT 2021)

This is a series of images I photographed in studio of Socceroos great Marco Bresciano. Bresciano played in the Italian first league for a decade, and was one part of Australia's Golden Generation that played in the 2006 world cup. Throughout Marco's career, he became well known for his goal celebration. In Italy, they would refer to him as 'La Statuta', in English 'The Statue'. When he would score he would come to a complete stop and stand with his hands by his side and look up to the crowd. So this series is based off the idea of the statue.
