Kwok Aun Tan, Bright Lights Dark City (DOCO 2022)

Walking the city streets, I felt like a disembodied ghost drifting amongst the living. I started my working life in this city, but returning decades later, I no longer felt part of the tableau. I was an alien flâneur descended upon a dystopian futuristic cityscape. Bright Lights Dark City is an ongoing project where I examine my disconnection as a returning expatriate, while dealing with the sorrow and regret of losing a parent.
