Lex Rudd, Brumbies (ANIMAL 2023)

Brumbies are another name for the feral horses that can be found in the Snowy Mountains in NSW. There are brumbies in other areas of Australia but my aim was to capture images of brumbies in the Snowy Mountains. Myself and my friends drove 400km, starting in Jindabyne, looking for the brumbies. During one day we found 3 groups of brumbies in various parts of Long Plain. I have three images. The first image is of a grey stallion who watched me closely in the light rain as his mares grazed. The second image is of two brumbies who have just seen me. The third image is of a small group of brumbies who are on the move. All images were captured using a Nikon D7200 with a 300mm f4 PF prime lens (equiv. 450mm) at f6.3 .
