Kristyn Taylor, Camping with the Karo (TRAVEL 2024)

It was such a relief to leave the scorching heat of the Ethiopian Omo valley and visit the Karo tribe, living high up above the Omo River, where the breeze blows and the temperature is a few degrees cooler. My local guide and I pitched out tents right on the edge of this stunning landscape and lay on our mattresses, enjoying the cool breeze and the gentle Karo people with their AK-47s.
