Reinhardt Moller, Catch of the day (ANIMAL 2023)

This was a one-in-a-thousand-one-hundred shot. I spent the morning taking about 1100 images of this egret catching fish to get this picture. Fortunately for me this guy was pretty hungry and the fish were plentiful, allowing me to get this shot – one that will likely remain as one of my all time favourites. He would catch them, sometimes two or three at a time, then throw and flip them around to align before swallowing.
