Kylie Purtell, Child's Play (Portrait)

One of my favourite things to do is watch my daughters and my friend's children playing. The imagination and sheer joy fills my heart and makes me feel young again. It reminds me of long afternoons spent with my sisters and friends, creating entire imaginary worlds, laughing together, chasing each other. The smallest thing could become magical, and it was a world all of our own, with no adults allowed. When I photograph children this is what I try to capture, this secret world of imagination, cheekiness and fun.
