Natalie Cunningham, Chip Break (SINGLE SHOT 2023)

Malia at the edge of the pool asking me to pass her a chip. It was one of those moments only a photographer can understand - my brain constructed a composition triggered by the simplicity of the moment - a child mid play asking for a snack. Her expression, position, the light, the colours and the fine details such as water droplets on her face and the reflections in the foreground told the story of Malia taking a chip break on a hot summers day at the pool.
