Kevin Palmer, Cuteness for a Cause (ANIMAL 2024)

So unashamedly, yes I have gone with cuteness in this entry.   There is no doubt that photography and photographers are at the frontline when it comes to creating public awareness about the environment. We see the beautiful along with the amazing and sadly also the tragic.  The Redneck Pademelon (Thylogale thetis) and Whiptail or Pretty Faced Wallaby (Macropus parryi) in images #1 and #2 each live in relatively safe habitats, where wild dog predation is their most common threat.  The shrinking mob of the Redneck Pademelon (Thylogale thetis) in image #3 has that same threat, yet also has to survive hoons nightly speeding and drift racing through her National Park.  She is, I believe, a juvenile orphan.

Images have been resized for web display, which may cause some loss of image quality. Note: Original high-resolution images are used for judging.
