Julie Spencer, Day's End (PORTRAIT 2023)

I don’t like to call Cassa our villa housemaid during a recent holiday to a southern Fijian Island. She was more than that. She would service our villa last, so she didn’t have to rush off. She would sit and chat with us - about her children, her work and her life on the nearby village island where she would commute back and forth daily. Although she was tired, and not used to being photographed, she agreed to sit briefly for me.
