Lara Gilks, dissonant (Portrait (2018))

In this series I wanted to explore the theme of dissonance through portraiture. In these images these is a sense of tension, contemplation, and unease by combining things that don't necessarily fit together. The dissonance in the images explores boundaries - between the macabre and the beautiful, perfection and imperfection, human and inhuman, dream and reality.
