Nicholas Gane, 'Don’t judge a book by its cover' - Lucky Diamond Rich. (SINGLE SHOT 2023)

Portrait shot of the World’s Most Tattooed Man, Lucky Diamond Rich in Newtown, Sydney. The shot was taken out front of Newtown’s 1991 ‘I Have A Dream’ mural, where in the late 1990s Rich discovered his indigenous heritage (Quandamooka and Mununjali peoples). The image emphasises the old phrase ‘Don't judge a book by its cover’ as it represents the complex and multi-layered human experience.
