Arnab Ray, Early Mornings in Kolkata (DOCO 2025)
As the first light of dawn spills over Kolkata, the city stirs awake—not in unison, but in contrast. Some move with purpose, labouring through the morning with sweat on their brows and determination in their steps. Others linger in the quiet corners, unhurried, as if time bends differently for them. Yet, in this delicate balance of toil and tranquillity, the city breathes. This is Kolkata, where the restless and the relaxed coexist, each playing their part in an unspoken rhythm. One pushing forward, the other grounding the moment. And perhaps, it is this contrast that keeps the city alive.
