Julien Parrot, Elder of the Forest (LANDSCAPE 2024)

Stepping into the ancient Gondwana forest nestled within Lamington National Park, you'll immediately be entranced by the breathtaking beauty that envelops you. Amidst the rich wildlife and countless waterfalls, it's easy to lose yourself in contemplation for hours on end. Personally, I've developed a deep fascination for the forest's venerable elders—the Antarctic beech trees, some exceeding 3000 years in age. These majestic beings, found only at the summits of the ridges, serve as poignant reminders of our fleeting existence on this planet, their stately forms a testament to the passage of time.
