Alexander Leeway, Embrace (Single Shot 2020)

This was shot on a whim during a trip through the Scotland Highlands in a motorhome. It was relentlessly cold and windy (for me), but Renata saw an opportunity to get her portrait taken amongst the mountains and reeds. I struggled to bare the elements - my face and fingers felt frozen, mucus dripping from my nose, I almost did not enjoy the process. But seeing Renata at peace with her hair dancing in the wind, all majestic like, embracing the elements, I became absolutely content and lost in the moment. A slither of sunlight shone through the stormy clouds and this portrait was captured. I quickly retreated back into the warmth quickly after, but grateful that I now have this memory to look back on.
