Jacinta Lane, En familie (Student (ATEP 2017))

In the last couple of years, members of my family have faced situations that – while not uncommon in themselves – were uniquely distressing. At that time, I started to observe my family to consider how family simultaneously can be a cause for distress as well as a critical source of support. So I turned the camera on my family members to explore these ambiguous familial states, but ultimately to examine where and how family returns to each other for reinforcement against the uncertainties of life and to make sense of where we fit.
