Julia Nance, Enjoying the world. (Portrait)

If people are happy I love capturing it. These are a collection of portraits of people enjoying life. Anne (1a) has never left Australia, but in the last week of every year Anne is happy, relaxed and carefree while camping on the Murray River in Victoria. Happy (2b) is a beautiful soul I met through my sister. A free spirit travelling the world and spreading happiness (hence the nickname). When we met I really felt her love for the environment, travel and the outdoors. Nathan (3c) and I began to explore and photograph together. Going off path we discovered a brilliantly green hillside with a 360 degree view. He sits here before taking a photograph (film of course, it is always film with Nathan). Nathan (4d) and I had just hiked all day in the Cathedral Ranges (VIC) in the middle of winter. Through the tee-trees shone brilliant golden light as the sun became lower on the horizon. Despite the heavy cold and knowledge of darkness to be upon us soon, we couldn't help but stop. Louise (5e) my older sister photographs only for fun. Together, chasing an oncoming sunset on the Great Ocean Road (VIC) we pushed our way through shrubs and found hidden paths while giggling like little girls. Graeme (6f) was a friend of my late Nana. I re-connected with him last year and made a trip up to his home in Lightning Ridge (NSW). Graeme is a local potter who made his way to 'The Ridge' 50 years ago on a holiday but he never went home. Here he stands in one of his iconic red train carriages where he creates and stores much of his art.
