Jason Vant Padje, EVERYDAY AUSSIE PEOPLE (Documentary/Photojournalism)

The people of Australia is what makes it unique. Combine this with an iconic Australian landscape and I created a series called 'Everyday Aussie People'. For a few weeks I woke up at 5:30am, went down to the Cairns Lagoon and socialised with regular individuals that arrived there every morning. I now consider these people friends and they probably think I’m crazy because I would visit them for a photographic competition. As emerging photographers we learn that the 'golden hour' is the best time for photography. I used this time of day to create a series of images that tell a story about the iconic Cairns location, The Cairns Esplanade Lagoon.
