Marlies Loescher, Family - together in work and life (Doco/Photojournalism (2019))

When I was visiting a local friend in Bali who worked himself up from being a boy cleaning shoes at a hotel to now managing and building places himself, he took me to a new building site next to his extended family's home where the whole family, pets included, worked together. They did not pose for the photos, I snapped them during watching them on the side when every now and then they would turn to see what I was doing and whether I was ok there. Such a lovely atmosphere and such a nice welcome of me and acceptance even as a stranger who didn't speak their language.
