Clement Chua, Famous Ceiling in Melbourne (ARCHITECTURE 2025)

Architecture is more than just structures; it is the embodiment of human ambition, history, and artistry. In this series, I turn my lens upward to unveil the unseen grandeur that exists above us—soaring ceilings that echo the spirit of Melbourne’s most iconic spaces. From the solemn geometry of the Shrine of Remembrance, where light filters through in a silent tribute to memory and sacrifice, to the State Library of Victoria, a sanctuary of knowledge where the grand dome cradles centuries of wisdom. Then, there is the breathtaking 333 Collins Street, a cathedral of commerce where opulence and symmetry dance in luminous splendor. Each photograph captures not just architectural brilliance but the emotions these spaces evoke—reverence, wonder, and timelessness. These ceilings, often unnoticed, hold stories of a city's past and its aspirations for the future. Through wide-angle precision and meticulous composition, I seek to transform the viewer’s perspective, to invite them to look beyond the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary. This portfolio is an ode to the art of looking up—to discovering beauty where it patiently waits, suspended above our daily lives.
