Ruth McDowall, Fisherman of Makoko, Nigeria (Documentary/Photojournalism)

This series is about two fishermen from Makoko, an informal settlement in Lagos. It is known as the venice of Africa due to the houses floating over the water. It is a slum type of settlement and home to over 80,000 people, all fisherman from Nigeria and neighbouring countries. Their sole income comes from fishing in the Lagos Lagoon.
