Xiner Huang, FOOD_PRO (ART 2023)

Over the 262 days in Melbourne’s lockdown, I observed myself and the people around me every day and the dramatic changes it had on our lifestyle. The days were filled with food and electrical devices. Questions like 'what are you eating' and 'what are you watching' became a standard conversation. We woke up at a similar time, ate similar food and then sat in front of a big screen, open to the same software, a ritual repeated everyday. During this monotony, food nourished the body while electronics became food for the soul. The series Food Pro depicts an intimate relationship between food and digital devices in a humorous and uncommon way. AirPods update to the form of mushrooms. The headphone sounds are played by an apple, cables tangle and camouflage as an onion, chargers hide in the marshmallow, and other combinations groups lead the Food Pro's style into a playfulness production.
