Donna Crebbin, Fools Gold (Landscape 2020)
The 2020 Bushfires in Kosciuszko National Park devastated me, a place I have frequented was heartwrenchingly ravaged, a term used widely but no other word can accurately describe the assault on our landscape. Fools Gold was a term I chose to describe this series, largely because the golden trees stripped bare in the setting sun gave an impression of grandeur that is sadly misplaced, instead reflecting the widespread damage of fire intensity, that's largely due to the sins of human inhabitance and mismanagement of our wilderness
